OTTAWA — The Canadian Board for Harmonized °µÍø½ûÇøion Codes (CBHCC) is seeking expressions of interest from individuals to be considered for chair of the Advisory Council for Harmonized °µÍø½ûÇøion Codes.
Applicants have until Oct. 9 to submit their application.
Anyone interested in applying for the position should have experience in the use or development of construction codes, building design, construction or building use and operations as well as experience chairing group deliberations, stated a release.
The new chair for the advisory council will play an important role as Canada enters the next code cycle, stated the CBHCC. The chair will facilitate the work of the advisory council, which provides advice to the CBHCC and helps shape the National Model Codes.
The advisory council’s activities include providing advice to the CBHCC on the strategic direction of the National Model Codes and on key policy issues related to code development priorities and planning, responding in writing to formal requests from the CBHCC on other code-related matters, and providing advice to the CBHCC on the overall direction of proposed code changes.
Canada’s National Model Codes include the National Building Code of Canada, the National Fire Code of Canada, the National Plumbing Code of Canada, the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings, and the National Farm Building Code of Canada.
