PICKERING, ONT. \u2014 A date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of\u00a0Christopher Panepinto, 33, who died on Feb. 10, 2020,\u00a0from injuries sustained while working at a construction site in Pickering.<\/p>\n
Media reports at the time stated he was crushed while forming concrete for a retirement community build.<\/p>\n
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3. Bonnie Goldberg will be the presiding officer and Grace Alcaide Janicas will be the inquest counsel.<\/p>\n
An inquest has been called pursuant to section 10 of the\u00a0Coroners Act and will <\/em>examine the circumstances surrounding Panepinto\u2019s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.<\/p>\n
The inquest is expected to last seven days and hear from approximately eight witnesses.<\/p>\n
It will be conducted by video conference.<\/p>\n
