Journal Of Commerce Image Journal Of Commerce

Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce managing editor Vince Versace joins Journal of Commerce digital media editor Warren Frey this week in our Burnaby office to talk about some of the stories we’ve been working on, such as the ongoing saga of community benefits agreements in British Columbia for big infrastructure projects and the industry’s reactions to the NDP’s approach. Warren also looks at stories he’s done recently about the British Columbia °µÍø½ûÇøion Safety Alliance’s upcoming Bridging the Gap safety conference as well as a story about a new water and wastewater plant on Vancouver’s North Shore.

Vince also takes a look at the first date to come out of recent Canada’s Core Public Infrastructure Survey, which details Alberta, Ontario and Quebec as the biggest provinces in terms of infrastructure, and also looks at Alex Carrick’s latest economic findings.

We also have an interview with Dave Maclean by Daily Commercial News staff writer Don Wall. Maclean is a civil engineer and co-founder of Our Home & Miniature Land, a tourist attraction now under construction in Mississauga that will feature models of thousands of familiar Canadian sites and buildings. MacLean discussed the painstaking efforts and months it took to build iconic structures like the Parliament Buildings.
