Structurlam appoints new VP of Arkansas manufacturing and operations

CONWAY, AK.—Structurlam Mass Timber Corporation has appointed Jason Trenn as their new vice-president of manufacturing and operations for its new production facility in Conway, AK.

Trenn’s previous forestry industry experience includes work at Canfor, Weldwood, West Fraser, Tembec and Weyerhaeuser and he worked most recently as Weyerhauser’s lumber manufacturing director in Greenville, N.C.

STRUCTURLAM—Jason Trenn

“Jason’s comprehensive background in lumber and engineered wood brings an incredible wealth of knowledge to our operations in Arkansas. At the start of his career, Jason actually once worked as a sawmill supervisor at our Okanagan Falls plant when it was previously owned by Weyerhaeuser and is well-versed in both our industry and community. His knowledge of working in B.C.’s ‘wood basket’ and experience with Southern Pine lumber in the Southern United States will be incredibly valuable to our team,” Structurlam CEO Hardy Wentzel said in a statement.

Trenn is originally from British Columba, the home province of Structurlam, and in his new role will be “accountable for all manufacturing activities at Structurlam’s new production facility in Conway, Arkansas, which is now in production,” a Structurlam release stated.

Structurlam manufactures mass timber products including glulam timber and cross-laminated timber panels used for walls, roofs, floors, beams and columns and has been headquartered in Penticton, B.C. since 1962.
