City of Vancouver launches digital permitting tools to decrease backlog

VANCOUVER — The City of Vancouver is launching two digital tools to speed up permitting and reduce manual review time.

The Project Requirements Exploration Tool, also known as PRET, makes it easier for applicants to review requirements specific for locations throughout the city and will identify potential costs, timelines and determine feasibility before an application is even considered.

The other tool is eComply developed by Archistar. eComply is a digital design compliance check tool that allows people to upload designs and drawings to check if they meet city regulations and then receive a compliance report. Vancouver is the first city in North America to partner with Archistar, according to a news release.

PRET will launch this summer and eComply will start next year. The city has released .
