The °µÍø½ûÇøion Record Podcast – Episode 272: The 2023 Alberta election

On this episode of The °µÍø½ûÇøion Record podcast, digital media editor Warren Frey speaks with Progressive Contractors Association president Paul de Jong, Independent Contractors and Businesses Association of Alberta president Mike Martens and Calgary °µÍø½ûÇøion Association president Bill Black about what they want to see in terms of construction industry policy whether the United Conservative Party or the Alberta NDP win on May 29.

Both de Jong and Martens reflected on some of the policies during the NDP’s previous tenure that worked well with the industry, how construction adapted to the UCP’s victory in 2019 and the subsequent uncertainty after Jason Kenney reigned as leader and was replaced by Danielle Smith.

They also expressed what they’d like to see in terms of future policy whether Smith or NDP leader Rachel Notley take the reigns on May 29, what they’re cautious about in terms of both party platforms. Black added no matter who wins the administrative bureaucracy will remain the same and that industry and government have to work together for the betterment of the province.

You can listen to The °µÍø½ûÇøion Record on the Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce websites as well as on ,ÌýÌý²¹²Ô»åÌý podcast section. Our previous episode featuring Marty Beard, the co-founder and CEO of AlwaysAI.co is here. Thanks for listening.
