OAKVILLE, ONT. – A fire destroyed 10 homes under construction in north Oakville, Ont. late Wednesday morning on a day with winds that may have accelerated the blaze.
The fire was located in a new subdivision near Dundas Street East at William Cutmore Boulevard stated Oakville Fire.
Oakville Fire responded and contained and doused the fire. The homes involved were in various stages of construction.
There are no reports of injuries at this time.
“The town provided an aggressive fire response which helped to control the spread of fire,†stated Oakville Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault. Â
In addition to the 10 homes, there is some damage to other homes on the construction site. There were no occupants in any of the homes.
Oakville Fire has initiated a fire investigation.
